Learn how to lead a marine debris survey and why microplastics pose a threat to aquatic life.

About this event

Please join presenter Dinah Maygarden, Director of the Coastal Education Program in the Pontchartrain Institute for Environmental Sciences at the University of New Orleans, on July 14, 2021 to explore how Marine Debris and Microplastics impact our watersheds and ocean. Participants will learn how to integrate phenomena with Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEE) into existing curricula and how student stewardship opportunities can be incorporated into learning.

Marine Debris and Microplastics will take place from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on July 14, 2021. A one hour lunch break will be provided. This virtual workshop will be held via zoom. Registered attendees will receive an email with Zoom information and instructions for joining prior to the event. Participants will have access to workshop materials upon completion of the workshop.
