Description

Join us for a presentation at the Library about the book and movie versions of the 1939 classic "Gone with the Wind".

Since 1994, Kathleen Marcaccio has presented her program on Margaret Mitchell and Gone With The Wind to hundreds of people in a variety of settings, including libraries, community colleges, retirement communities, historical societies, book clubs, women’s groups, and Civil War Round Tables, as well as at GWTW events.
Marcaccio’s GWTW presentation provides background on author Margaret Mitchell and her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Gone With The Wind; the 1939 film by the same name; Margaret Mitchell’s post-GWTW life; and Gone With The Wind in popular culture.

Past presentations have been given at numerous Michigan public libraries (Royal Oak, Chelsea, Monroe, Owosso, St. Clair Shores, Marcellus Township, Ortonville, Midland, Port Huron, Howard City, Morenci, Gaylord, and more), historical and genealogical societies and museums (Dearborn, Livonia, Plymouth, Clinton Township, Troy, and more), local Questers groups and their 2016 Michigan State Convention, Civil War Round Tables, book clubs (Detroit, Grosse Ile, Women’s National Book Association), professional groups (Plymouth Study Group, College Women’s Club, Northville/Novi AAUW, Panhellenic Assn.), adult enrichment (Wayne and Macomb SOAR , Oakland Community College, Schoolcraft College), and cultural institutions (Lorenzo Cultural Center at Macomb Community College, Grosse Pointe War Memorial), and church groups and retirement communities, among others.
