Description

'Challenge DemCare'

Esme Moniz-Cook, Professor of Psychology Ageing & Dementia Care Research, Faculty of Health Science, Hull University / Consultant Clinical Psychologist (Honorary), Humber NHS FT.

The Challenge DemCare programme has developed an interactive computer system to assist mental health workers to support family carers and to help staff in care homes to provide a better quality of life for people with dementia. It is hoped the interactive system will also reduce stress levels for the mental health workers and care home staff themselves.

'Scrambled eggs, A Milkshake and You'

Christopher Green, Olivier award-winning theatre maker. Christopher Green will present an introduction to his working methods, why he wants to work in this way, and what artists and the care sector have to learn from each other. He is preparing a large scale immersive piece set in a residential care home in collaboration with Entelechy Arts, The Albany and The Southbank Centre for a production in 2019. His current piece 'Prurience' was described by The Times: 'This is the kind of art that leaves its mark on you. Unnerving, and uncomfortably compelling.'
