⭐️ You may be wondering... Why come to our gala? I would love to tell you WHY you should come and HOW your attendance will help AAHS save lives. ♥️🐾

We need a new shelter desperately! Mardi Paws is a fundraising gala helping raise contributions for a new shelter!! You’ve probably seen our beautiful bright building as you’ve driven by. Well folks... We are OUT OF ROOM!! 😭

Our current shelter houses adoptable animals, spay/neuter center, and offices. The building's original design never intended with a shelter or veterinary clinic in mind. We make it work and we are SO grateful to have the space we do, but we believe our pets deserve more. We have worked incredibly hard since Executive Director, Jane Stewart, came on board in October 2014 and Shelter Coordinator, Jed Kaylor, a few months prior. We have increased our adoption numbers from around 400 in 2014 to around 1500 every year since! We do a lot with a little, and have the most amazing, supportive community behind us ♥️

We want to be able to engage our community, allowing more volunteers and adopters to have the space + time they deserve when visiting our pets or trying to pick out a new family member. Our shelter does not have the most kid friendly or to some of our friends with physical disabilities and we would love to change that!! Moving to a new shelter would mean better humane education workshops; hosting more schools and organizations; more camps; more opportunity for community involvement. Most importantly, better disease control for our pets. Health and quality of care for our pets are two incredibly important factors when determining our need for a new shelter. Our current building is not ideal for managing either factor but we do our best! We know our animals would be able to stay healthier if we had a shelter set up specifically for their needs. Ultimately, this would save us money in vet fees and help get the animals get placed into forever homes quicker, all while saving them so much pain and suffering. 💉🐱🐶😢

Thanks for sticking with me through that, we would love to talk more about this if anyone has any questions. We would also be happy to have anyone interested come by the shelter for a tour! Help fundraise for a better, brighter future for our pets in style at Mardi Paws! 🎉🐾🍾
