New Haven, CT
Ever wanted to go to Mardi Gras? Do you love the costumes? Do you want to earn your beads? You can travel 1390 miles to New Orleans or you can stay in New Haven! The Purr Project is bringing to you the event of the year - “Mardi Gras New Haven.”
It is called "the biggest party on Earth" - Mardi Gras…and the mere mention of these two words makes people think of raucous celebrations, beads flying through the air, and ear-to-ear grins.
Get dressed in your best masquerade Costume and come to Mardi Gras - New Haven style. You’ll enjoy live music, a New Orleans style buffet, raffle prizes, a feature burlesque show, and beads by the handfuls.
The fun starts at 8:00 pm right in downtown New Haven at the Elk’s Lodge #25 at 524 State Street.
"Let The Good Times Roll!"
All proceeds go to benefit homeless animals for The Purr Project, Inc.
When & Where
The Purr Project, Inc
The Purr Project, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization whose duty is to give a second chance to good felines that would otherwise be euthanised because of trauma resulting from an accident, abuse, or abandonment. The Purr Project is based at New HavenCentralHospital for Veterinary Medicine - a 24-hour emergency facility on State Street in New Haven. This location gives us natural advantages as many of our volunteers are veterinarians or veterinary technicians and we can provide 24-hour care for our animals. But The Purr Project is more than just an animal rescue. Through The Purr Project Foundation, we give academic scholarships to students dedicated to helping animals, and our community arm - The Beebe Anti Cruelty Institute tries to address community issues like animal abuse and the circle of violence.
