Need to make some quick alterations to your Mardi Gras costume? Not sure where to start on the costuming process? Do you feel stuck? Or do you just want to be a part of an amazing community of arts? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then our workshop is perfect for you. In this workshop Katie Schmidt, designer and owner at Passion Lilie, will consult with you on your costuming needs and provide guidance based on your skill level of how to best alter or make your Mardi Gras costume. Please be realistic in your expecations. Katie will not be teaching you how to sew. She will give you quick and easy tips to make that costume work for the most magical day of the year.
Katie has been designing, sewing and creating sewing patterns for decades. She is the owner and designer at Passion Lilie, a fair trade fashion brand, that has been in business for 10 years. Prior to starting Passion Lilie, Katie worked in theaters in California as a seamstress, crafts person and designer and she knows some quick and easy alterations.
You must bring your costume and whatever supplies you have. If you have a sewing machine, please bring it. If you do not have a sewing machine, no problem, you can do hand sewing or use a hot glue. Please bring what you think you will need. Sewing is an art form that requires patience and time. You may not leave this short workshop with a completed project, depending on how difficult your costume is, but you will leave the workshop with the knowledge that you need to complete your costume.
