Description
"Marcia Ball plays two-fisted New Orleans barrelhouse piano and sings in a husky, knowing voice about all the trouble men and women can get into on the way to a good time." -The New York Times
Texas-born, Louisiana-raised pianist/vocalist/songwriter Marcia Ball is touring to support her new release, "The Tattooed Lady and the Alligator Man". The Grammy-nominated performer has earned worldwide fame for her ability to ignite a full-scale roadhouse rhythm and blues party every time she strolls onto the stage. Her groove-laden New Orleans boogie, deeply soulful ballads and rollicking Gulf Coast blues have made her a one-of-a-kind favorite with music fans all over the world.
Opening for Ball is blues slide guitarist John "Greyhound" Maxwell. With a musical career that spans four decades, and a trajectory that's gone from acoustic blues, to country, jazz, punk rock and R&B, and back to the blues, this guy has seen it all. Maxwell has shared the stage with Maria Muldaur, Ruthie Foster, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, and David Lindley.
