Description

**Note: location change!**

For our March meeting, which is the day after the California primary, we have decided to do something different.

We will be gathering for a talk by Robin DiAngelo, author of White Fragility, at the Crossroads School in Santa Monica. Following the talk, we will relocate nearby (TBD) for a brief meeting to discuss club business, and vote on the bylaws changes that were presented at the February meeting (if you would like a redlined copy of these changes, please email heartladems@gmail.com).

Please make sure to make a reservation for the DiAngelo talk here - https://xrds.myschoolapp.com/page/event-detail?siteId=1473&ssl=1&register=29820

DiAngelo is the New York Times-bestselling author of “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism.” Her book explores how race shapes the lives of white people, explains what makes racism so hard for white people to see and identifies common white racial patterns that prevent us from moving toward greater racial equity, providing the framework to develop white racial literacy. DiAngelo received her doctorate in multicultural education from the University of Washington, where she is an affiliate associate professor of education, and has worked with a wide variety of private, nonprofit and governmental organizations.

This event is free but registrations are required.
