About this Event
The focus of this after-school program is to explore science! Each week, students will be able to participate in a different activity per day and learn the science behind their experiments.
Experiments will include, but are not limited to:
- Making a hovercraft and learning about friction
- Using household objects to create a catapult
- Creating foam and producing an exothermic chemical reaction
- Learning how to fit an egg into a bottle using air pressure
- Seeing if objects sink or float depending on their densities
- Designing a bridge out of toothpicks and marshmallows
- Baking s'mores in your very own solar oven
This class will be facilitated using a hybrid-learning format. A maximum number of 12 students will be able to participate in-person, and up to 10 students will be able to participate virtually.
Open to youth grades 3 - 8. This program is free, but registration is required.
Each session will be one and a half hours and will be held on the following dates and times:
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 2 - 4, 2021 at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 9 - 11, 2021 at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 16 - 18, 2021 at 4 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March 23 - 25, 2021 at 4 p.m.
