Event description

Description

*This will be a special meetup where we will also celebrate the hard work and dedication that our Code.org Professional Learning Program cohorts have put in this past year.*

Open social meetup for anyone interested in computer science education in Iowa. This includes current computer science teachers; administrators and teachers considering the future of computer science for their schools; companies wanting a voice in this area or that would like to know what's happening; government staff and officials; and anyone else with an interest in computer science education.

There will be four meetups this academic year. Please come to one or more to participate in this ongoing, and lively discussion. Each meetup will have the following agenda:

  1. Short presentation of related research or lab tours by faculty or students.

  2. Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) Iowa chapter meeting, open to current and interested members. Those not attending the meeting will be able to mingle during this time.

  3. Open social time for people to discuss topics related to CS education in Iowa.

Light food will be provided. Please RSVP so that we can plan accordingly.
