About this Event

Calling all educators!

Gateway National Recreation Area has long been a field trip destination for schools across NYC and New Jersey, and while many students are learning in a very different fashion, we are adapting to ensure we still remain an educational destination for students and teachers alike!

What is a Town Hall?

A Town Hall is an open forum for discussion, in which every participant of the meeting holds an equal voice. We want to speak with NYC educators on their experience navigating this new virtual education terrain and learn how we, as a National Park Site, can best utilize our resources to provide students, educators, and caregivers with the most fruitful and seamless experience possible.

Join us this month with our educational partner, New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium!

The Education Program at the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) holds a wide variety of programs directed towards advancing greater understanding and stewardship of our state’s marine and coastal resources. Collectively, these programs engage a large and diverse audience of learners. Our K-12 field trip program alone provides instruction to over 20,000 school children annually, taking them out of the classroom and onto the beaches, bays, and estuaries of New Jersey for active learning experiences.

NJSGC has developed a number of virtual education programs to supplement remote learning during COVID-19 restrictions. Click here for more information about Virtual Education Programs for school groups, scouts and families.
