Event description

Description

We're delighted to welcome a very special guest to the Kingston Functional Forum in March, best-selling author and Gluten and Autoimmunity expert Tom O'Bryan.

During this exclusive event, Tom will be talking about how brain dysfunction and deterioration has direct links to food sensitivities in conditions including Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Autism-spectrum disorders, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, and Epilepsy. Tom will also be signing copies of his best-selling book "The Autoimmune Fix".

During Tom's talk "Living Life to the Fullest - Dietary Effects on Neurotransmitters, Depression and Anxiety", you'll learn about:

  • The neurological effects from immune activation to food intolerance and allergies

  • The physiology processes by which food antigens may impact on the brain physiology, mood disorders and cognition

  • Specific biomarkers relevant to food-induced neurological dysfunction

Copies of Tom's book "The Autoimmune Fix" will be available to purchase on the night or you can bring your copy of the book to the event.

All proceeds for this event will be donated to the social enterprise initiative 'Beat the Streets', a community project designed to get people moving to improve health. For more information, watch this short video featuring Dr William Bird the founder.

This event is targetted at practitioners but members of the public with an interest in the subject matter are also welcome.

About Tom O'Bryan

Thomas O’Bryan is an internationally recognized and sought-after speaker and
workshop leader specializing in wheat, its impact on health, and the development of
autoimmune diseases as they occur inside and outside of the intestines. In November
2016, Tom released Betrayal: The Autoimmune Disease Solution They’re Not
Telling You, an investigation into the global effects of issues underlying the autoimmune
system and chronic disease. Over 500,000 people worldwide have watched the
docuseries.

Tom O’Bryan is considered a ‘Sherlock Holmes’ for chronic disease and metabolic
disorders, teaching that the underlying mechanisms that trigger the development of
chronic disease are the key to health. He holds teaching faculty positions with The
Institute for Functional Medicine and the National University of Health Sciences. He has
trained and certified tens of thousands of practitioners around the world in advanced
understanding of the impact of wheat sensitivity and the development of individual
autoimmune diseases.

His 2016 groundbreaking book, The Autoimmune Fix, won the National Book Award and
ranked first in several categories on Amazon. The book outlines the step-by-step
development of degenerative diseases and gives us the tools to identify our disease
process years before the symptoms are obvious.

Tom O’Bryan is founder of TheDr.com and the visionary behind The Gluten Summit: A
Grain of Truth, which brings together 29 of the world’s experts on the gluten connection
to diseases, disorders, and a wide range of symptoms. You can find out more
at TheGlutenSummit.com.
