What is Code Craftsman Saturdays? (see the website for complete details)
Software developers of every stripe and every level get together for a day of pairing, test driving, food, and fun. There are no presentations, no vendors, and no recruiters. Just other software craftsman (and craftswomen) learning from each other. Registration information is used to count how many people (not who) attended.
March's theme is "Refactoring; again" on Saturday 3/8/14, starting at 8:30am running until 4:30pm. Pretty much everyone who practices TDD knows the Red, Green, Refactor mantra. But if the large number of code bases out there that scare the beejeezus out their maintainers is any indication, the refactor part is where the most attention is needed, so go there we will. As always, for general questions please see the Code Craftsman Saturdays website, especilly the FAQs.
1. Food: Better than Pizza (breakfast and lunch)
2. Pairing: Awesome all day, with fellow craftsmen.
3. Fun: Over the top (drive, learn, both: you choose).
4. Talking heads/presentations: not a one.
The event is TOTALY FREE, but you MUST register. We only have room for 35 craftpeople.
Code Craftsman Saturdays
Hone your skills while having fun with fellow craftsmen (and craftswomen). You won't find any recruiters or talking heads here; it's hands-on keyboards and fun challenges.
You'll pair with some of the best and some of the rawest nubes. You get to lead, follow, teach, discover, and probably all of the above. This is about code craftsmanship, pure and simple.
Once a month, every month, you'll know where to find people who take their craft seriously, and love to have fun practicing it.
We alternate the format each month between Deep Dive (subject-based) and Code Retreat (kata and practice based).
