Description

Brief Description:

What are the tools, techniques and time-honored practices for producing professional-looking maps? Instructor Melody Cao will show you the steps using a variety of tools, including MapBox, along with an innovative mix of hands-on class exercises. Students will also learn techniques for critiquing existing maps, plus they will be guided in the preparation and presentation of an independent mapping project.

This class meets once per week (6:00 - 9:00 p.m.) for three weeks/sessions: Feb. 20, 27; Mar. 13 (no class Mar. 6)

Important Notes:

  • The workshop venue may change based on classroom availability. Registered students will be given advance notice if this is the case.

  • If the workshop is held, as planned, at CCSF's Mission campus, computers will be provided for workshop exercises. Alternately, students are welcome to bring their own laptops.

  • If the workshop must be moved to another venue, students will be required to bring their own wi-fi enabled laptops to class, either a PC or a Mac.

Instructor: Melody Cao - when it comes to designing professional maps, she's your new best friend!
