Event description

Description

Michigan Abolitionist Project (MAP) is a grassroots organization focused on prevention and ending human trafficking in Michigan and beyond. MAP works to raise awareness and mobilize communities to take action, including the restoration of hope and dignity to the survivors of modern slavery. MAP Community Groups are a group of concerned citizens who work together to address slavery in their community. MAP Ann Arbor is led and organized by volunteers to conduct awareness events and engage in service projects in the local community. We seek to empower community members to use their gifts, talents and resources to address human trafficking and its root causes.

We are looking forward to joining together as a community for the first time, meeting each other and learning more about our individual talents, gifts and resources that we can bring to help define and guide our mission, goals and path going forward.

MAP-Ann Arbor will meet the fourth Sunday of every month from 12-5PM for a two part Community Group Meeting:

S.O.A.P. (Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution) was founded by author, advocate, & survivor- Theresa Flores

S.O.A.P.’s mission is to educate and rescue. Victims are provided a number to call for help and hotels/motels are trained to identify signs of sex trafficking and where to report it.

To rescue victims being trafficked at hotels. To provide victims a number to call for help. To educate motels and hotels on the signs of trafficking. To mobilize volunteers on a human trafficking outreach.
