The Many Sounds of Christmas: Sunday, December 18th 3PM and Monday December 19th 7PM. New York City's joyful holiday tradition returns with The Salvatones (vocal ensemble), New York Virtuosi (string ensemble), Stephen Fraser (organist) all under the direction of Daniel Brondel, who is Associate Director of Music and Organist at St. Patrick's Cathedral. The Salvatones Young Voices, the newly launched children’s choir directed by Stephen Fraser, are featured on the 75-minute program. Holiday gems are paired with rarely-heard twists of classic favorites such as jazzy arrangements of Deck The Halls and Go, Tell It on the Mountain. Cherished Christmas carols for everyone to sing together (O Come, All Ye Faithful, and The First Noel, among others) are woven through brief excerpts from Handel's Messiah and Vivaldi’s Winter.
