Event description

Description

Join us for an evening to meet with Columbus State staff, engineering technology faculty members, current students and industry representatives to learn about career opportunities in advanced manufacturing and logistics.

What is the Engineering Technology Work Study program?

Students complete their first year of classes at CSCC in an Engineering Technology program as a full-time student. In the spring of their first year, they interview with our industry partners for a part-time position (typically 24 hours a week at approximately $15-$21 an hour). If successful in obtaining one of these positions, students work three days per week and attend class two days per week while they finish their Associate degree. Students earn more in their work study positions than the total cost of the degree, allowing many students to graduate debt free.

Upon successful completion, students often receive full-time job offers for positions with starting salaries around $50k-$60k. Students wishing to continue their education can transfer credits towards a Bachelor’s degree at several universities, oftentimes taking advantage of tuition reimbursement programs through their employers.

*University partners will be available to provide information on the option to pursue a Bachelor's degree after completing the Work Study program.
