On Sunday, June 25th, we are proud to bring to you Delaware's 2nd Annual Mantra Yoga Festival! Get ready to experience amazing yoga instructors (for both adults & kids), meditation teachers, healers, acro yogis, musical performers, massage therapists, inspirational speakers and new this year.... SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Yoga! This will be a transformational yoga festival in our very own Lewes, Delaware. Mantra Yoga Fest benefits the Friends of Canalfront Park

Whether you're an experienced yogi or brand new to yoga, you can create your ideal day at Mantra Yoga Fest. There are classes for all levels, from beginner to advanced! Below you'll have the chance to register for your choices in each of the four time slots. Each class/lecture is one hour in length. Mix in meditation, mindfulness, yin yoga, and empowering and uplifting vinyasa.

Mantra Yoga Fest will be an experience that leaves you different then when you came - with new ideas, new friends, newly discovered abilities, and greater peace. We promise to bring you top-notch yoga and inspirational experiences.

Here's what's in store for you:

Opening - Singing Bowl Meditation - 8:00 am - 8:15 am MAIN TENT


8:15 am - 9:15 am Choices:

Class: Meditation 101 - MAIN TENT
Open to all levels and accompanied by the healing sounds of crystal bowls. Explore a variety of meditation including Breath Awareness Meditation and Bhavana Meditation. The benefits of this meditation are transferable to asana practice and life: we are always breathing!

Class: Gentle Flow - LAWN #1
Experience a light-hearted exploration of flowing postures and movements that stem from a purposeful attention to breath. Combine mindful rigor and strength with a serious commitment to finding ease. Cultivate a sense of curiosity and self-discovery and learn to trust the wisdom of your own body.
Class: Fire up your Core! - LAWN #2
Ignite your tapas (inner fire). This dynamic, strength-building class, inspired by Baptiste Power Vinyasa & Ashtanga, flows through a set sequence with variations. Building off a firm foundation of Sun Salutations, you’ll move through the motions you most encounter in life like lifting, stretching, twisting and bending. Enjoy a renewed sense of vitality as you move from sweat to serenity. Because of the tempo of the class, prior experience is recommended.

Lecture: Mindfulness - Who has time? Presented by Dr. Krista Griffin
Do you feel stressed that there is just not enough time in the day? Then you need to attend this lecture. We will show you that incorporating Mindfulness into one’s life doesn’t have to take any extra effort or time. Join us for an experiential discussion on Mindfulness. We will discuss not only the basics but also the science behind the mental and physical benefits of mindfulness. We will learn and experience practical tools that you can incorporate into your life right away. Your peace of mind is only a breath away.

Dr. Krista Griffin, Minds Over Matter Co-Founder, is a Chiropractor and the owner of Lotus Chiropractic in Lewes. Throughout her 20-year career, Dr. Griffin has focused on understanding and tapping into the mind-body connection. Currently studying Functional Medicine, her method of treatment relies heavily on the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. Dr. Griffin guides her patients to access this power with hands-on work, through education and the principles of quantum physics. Her interest in mindfulness came through the realization that we ask children to sit still and pay attention but we have never actually taught them how to do so. Paying attention is a learned skill that many of us could use more training in.

Take the Plunge! Experience yoga from a fresh new perspective- on a floating mat, with 9 new friends! Tone your core, build your stability and play/have fun with your practice outside the studio.

Class: 70's - 80's Flow - MAIN TENT
Back by popular demand! A fun flow vinyasa class joined with your favorite 70's and 80's music. Come Groove with us! Great for all levels.

Class: Family Yoga: Beach Adventure - LAWN #1
2 1/2 - 4 year olds and Caregiver. Spend 30 minutes having "fun at the beach" through yoga stories, games and poses along side parents, grandparents, and other family members. Play, learn, and grow as well as have fun as a family.

Class: Acro Yoga - LAWN #2
A blend of the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics, and the loving kindness of healing arts.

Lecture: Organics 101, Presented by Susan Ryan
History of the USDA Organic Certification Program, current trends in the industry and what it means for the consumer and our environment.

Susan Ryan is the owner of Good Earth Market and Organic Farm in Clarksville, DE and Rehoboth Beach DE. She was born and raised in the Washington DC area and has been summering at the beach since she was 5 and decided to make the beach her home 17 years ago. Married to her husband of 30 years, David Ryan, they have 3 three children. Susan is a member of DOFA, Delaware Food and Farm Association and her farm was the second USDA certified organic farm in the state of Delaware. She is an advocate of all things natural. Susan loves the organic grocery business, growing food, and hosting guests on her farm. She has just recently added a farm-to-table restaurant at her Clarksville location! Good Earth Market was presented with Business of the year in 2012 by the Center for the Inland Bays.

Amp up the already amazing benefits of yoga by using your core muscles to balance in this intro to SUP. Enjoy the freedom to move, and to be moved while on your paddle board!!

Class: Hip Hip Hooray! - MAIN TENT
Find out why this is the most requested class in yoga! Loosen tight hips, improve your range of motion and circulation and alleviate back pain with this specifically designed stationary sequence.

Class: Kids Yoga - LAWN #1
5-10 year olds. Spend 45 minutes finding peace and balance as we learn basic yoga poses through games and song. Create a fun, energetic and non-competitive environment to build stronger social and emotional connections, boost physical fitness and self-expression and let go of stress.

Class: Turn Your World Upside Down - LAWN #2
Experience the magic of walking on clouds! We will strengthen and open up the body for inversions with a short flow, have a guided meditation on what it takes mentally to get upside down, and finally we will play! We will be covering headstand, handstand, forearm stand, and shoulder stand.

Lecture: Stand in Your Power! The 5 steps to Life with Confidence & Happiness, Presented by Elizabeth Sanchez
Discover how to: 1) Identify what it means to live your truth, 2) Release blocks that hold you back from stepping into your greatness, 3) Stay present living in the Now, 4) Embrace the importance of Self-Love, and 5) Create a positive change on the ones you love.

Class: The Art of Opening Your Heart - MAIN TENT
Open your heart and say "AHHHHHHH!" Backbends are the counterpose to our daily lives. BAckbends open up the heart chakra, increasing our sense of well-being, confidence, and connection to the world around us. Energize both body and mind.

Class: Yin Yoga: A Journey Through The Chakras - LAWN #1
Take a yin journey through your chakras to balance and align your mind, body and spirit. You will be led through gentle yin poses to release blocks and open to receive all the good the universe has to offer. This style of practice, done slowly and safely, nourishes the natural range of motion of the joints. Chakras are a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds by guiding our subtle energy through the body. This class will use deep breathing techniques in each pose in order to encourage focus and clearer awareness on each chakra from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.

Class: Come Fly with Me - Arm Balances - LAWN #2
For many yogis, arm balances can seem a little scary and completely unattainable. They do, in fact, require lots of core strength, balance and focus. But wait! Don’t write them off just yet! Remember, it's called a yoga "practice" for a reason. As with many aspects of yoga, the ability to nail arm balances will come with time, patience and, yes, practice, practice, practice. Here we’ll focus on just a few things that will lead you to adding arm balances into your own practice.

Lecture: Tired? Stressed? Heal your body, awaken your spirit! Presented by Kim Furtado, N.P.
Adrenal Fatigue is a stress-related condition that occurs when your adrenal glands, hypothalamus, and pituitary gland are functioning below their optimal level. It is typically the result of chronic physical or emotional stress. Adrenal Fatigue results in symptoms like a weakened immune system, low energy levels and an inability to handle stressful situations.
Chronic stress also affects our hormones and inflammation levels. How does your yoga practice deepen your body's physiologic healing process? What to do heal the adrenals, especially needed if you have chronic injury or limitations on the mat?

Kim Furtado, N.D. is a naturopathic doctor at Quakertown Wellness Center in Lewes who specializes in science-based, patient focused, natural medicine. An expert in herbal medicine, nutrition, detoxification and hormone balancing, a mother of five daughters and three grandchildren, a school garden program director, and an advocate for the environment, Dr. Kim brings her diverse experience to each patient and student. She received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.) degree from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, and holds a Bachelor of Science Cum Laude in Biology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Inspired by the healing power of earth-based natural medicine, Dr. Furtado is dedicated to continued education and research about health, healing and medicine.
