Mansfield Park Book Discussion with Bridget Draxler

Book discussion will be lead by Bridget Drexler.

She will have 1 or 2 students with her to help facilitate the discussion on Mansfield Park

Bridget Draxler is a professor at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. A former Chawton House Fellow at Chawton Library, she also received a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar grant in 2012 to study Jane Austen and her contemporary women writers with Minnesota native and JASNA favorite Dr. Devoney Looser. Bridget co-edited a special issue of Persuasions On-Line (published by JASNA) on "Teaching Austen and Her Contemporaries," in which she published an article titled "Teaching Jane Austen in Bits and Bytes: Digitizing Undergraduate Archival Research." She has hosted a series of student-led community reading groups in Illinois and Minnesota to celebrate the bicentennial anniversary of Austen's publications, including Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Mansfield Park, and Northanger Abby. She is also the co-author of a new book from the University of Iowa Press, Engaging the Age of Jane Austen: Humanities in Practice (2019).

$32 for Members and Guests
