Description

Clinicians and human service providers will receive an overview of current statistics on child abuse, including information regarding types, ages, victims, and perpetrators of abuse. The impact of various forms of abuse upon child behaviors and presentations for care will be presented and discussed. Types of reportable child abuse will be reviewed, as will obligations of care providers of children in out of home care as mandated reporters.

This training will also review all aspects of accurate incident reporting including how, why and when to write an Incident Report, who receives incident reports and information gathered from incident reports.

Trainer: Lee Collyer, MSW

Lee currently serves as the School-Based Services Program Director, Alameda County at Lincoln and is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Social Work at CSU-East Bay. Lee has 12-plus years’ experience working with youth and families in various environments, including public schools, residential programs, correctional facilities and therapeutic boarding schools. He has presented and trained professionals nationally on topics such as juvenile incarceration, poverty, classroom management, crisis management, seclusion and restraint elimination/reduction, and positive behavior support. Lee holds a master’s degree in social work from Wheelock College in Boston and holds a B.A. from Marlboro College in Vermont.

Training Registration Policy

Registration closes a week prior to the training and we cannot accept late registrations. Thank you for your understanding.

Training Cancellation Policy

If we cancel training or special event as a result of low registration, for example, registrants will be notified by email or phone one week prior to the training date and receive a full refund. Where courses are cancelled for reasons beyond our control, then registrants will be given shorter notice and will receive a full refund. If a registrant cannot attend training and contacts the Training Institute within 72 hours of the training or special event to cancel, a full refund will be issued. If a registrant contacts the Training Institute outside of the 72 hour period, a refund will not be issued.

Grievances

When a grievance arises pertaining to a Lincoln training, the complainant is expected to notify Minjon LeNoir, Director of Training, either by phone 510-273-4700, x4331, in writing, or in email minjonlenoir@lincolnfamilies.org, as soon as possible so that the nature of the concern may be addressed in a timely fashion in order to be resolved.

Continuing Education

This course meets the qualifications for one (1) BBS CEUs for LPCCs, LCSWs and MFTs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences & is provided by Lincoln, Provider #4906.
