Description

There's no hiding from unstructured information, although a lot of information can hide from you! Learn the latest tools and best practices for managing your unmanaged information at our first meeting of the 2017-18 year!

Nowadays, records are created and store electronically. While this can make some aspects of document management easier, it brings its own set of challenges. Whether you are currently using enterprise content management software, or file shares, you most likely have unmanaged documents. Redundant, Obsolete or Trivial documents are now taking up valuable server space and making migration to a new system a daunting task. This presentation will provide practical tips and insight into starting an electronic document remediation (clean-up) project. David Horwatt and Mike Randash from General Networks will discuss the tools and processes for budgeting and timing of projects that:

Find what you have across the entire enterprise.

  • Keep what you need across the entire enterprise.
  • File Cleanup to scrub for all Redundant, Obsolete, and Trivial (ROT) files and identifies specific content across multiple repositories.
  • Build out your target taxonomies, automatically apply the metadata to your files and move your content into your new ECM.
  • Identify ROT for cleanup and removal, identify PII for appropriate handling, and keep your shared drives clean and compliant.
