Event description
Museum-based volunteer managers — learn proven strategies for addressing volunteer push-back

About this Event

Have you raised expectations for your volunteer program, only to experience resistance from your volunteers?

Push-back is a natural response to change — but it must be addressed to ensure a transition that's smooth for the volunteers and low-stress for the volunteer manager.

In this roundtable, museum-based volunteer managers will:

- Explore the causes of volunteer push-back

- Discuss practical strategies for managing problem behaviors

- Receive feedback and guidance from the group around a particular mangement challenge of their own

The format for this session is a combination of formal instruction around how to manage push-back and discussion of the information shared.

Unlike other roundtables, though, each participant will have dedicated time to brainstorm around a particular volunteer management challenge, receiving support and solutions from the facilitator and their colleagues.

This is a rare opportunity for DC-area museum volunteer managers to come together and explore common issues - but space is limited to 4-6 participants to guarantee personal attention.

Register now!

Your roundtable registration includes everything: relevant articles on managing push-back, a written summary of group takeaways, plus the dedicated time to problem-solve around a current challenge.
