About this Event

75-90% of all visits to primary care physicians result from stress-related disorders." - Paul Rosch, President, American Institute of Stress

Stress not only affects our mental state, but it can have a negative impact on physical health as well. In this 3-part interactive workshop, we will identify common stressors and explore possible ways to limit exposure as well as reduce their negative effects on our bodies. Together we will discover behavioral and dietary choices that lead to a feeling of wellness, and we will discuss (and sample!) common, safe herbs to support vital body functions along the way. Participants will gain practical knowledge to immediately begin to incorporate into their daily lives to manage stress.

Wednesday October 9, 2019 – 6pm – 7pm

Session 1: Introduction to Stress

We live in a culture of ‘high stress’, but what does that really mean? How does it impact our health, physically as well as mentally? This interactive discussion will facilitate discovery of what causes stress in each of our lives as well as begin to observe how our bodies react in the presence of stress. We will learn simple breathing exercises that can be employed anywhere to alleviate acute stress in the moment. Calming, herbal teas will be served to augment the experience.

(Look for Session 2 on October 16th and Session 3 on October 23rd)
