Instructors: Claire Robitaille, Ph.D., LSW, Psychologist

CEUs: N/A

Course Description: We all play many different roles in our lives. We are workers, parents, spouses, friends, and caregivers. Not surprisingly, achieving balance among these competing priorities can be very challenging. Managing stress can be understood as the ability to balance all aspects of our lives which results in feelings of being “in control’ as opposed to overwhelmed and “out of control”. This training will explore the concept of life balance and its relationship to managing stress and personal health.

Goal: Evaluate life stress and identify ways to more effectively integrate life activities in such a way as to increase life balance and minimize stress.

Objectives:

  • Name three aspects of daily life that are critical to personal health (self-care/relationships/production)
  • Explain the concept of “life balance” and its relationship to stress management.
  • Define self-care and name 4 skills associated with improved self-care.
  • Create a personal plan of action for reducing stress.
