Event description

Description

The SDSU Center for Autism is pleased to host the third in a three part series of talks in collaboration with Lauren Cox, BCBA. Children with autism often have repetitive and rigid behaviors that will interfere with a successful mealtime. Since eating and mealtime is a necessary part of our day to day lives, so we will review some common challenges that families may experience in getting their kids to eat regularly and eat well. We will also review steps we can take to make eating a more structured time with specific strategies that would help learners expand what they eat as well as when and how much they eat. Childcare will be provided for this event :)

Lauren Cox is a BCBA with Trumpet Behavioral Health in San Diego. She has worked in the field for 11 years, working mostly with children in a verbal behavior clinic setting, as well as home settings. Her interests include: staff and parent training, teaching learners in alternative communication systems specifically sign language acquisition, and seeing parents see their child learning new skills. She offers educational opportunities around San Diego for different organizations and companies as requested in order to disseminate the field of behavior analysis to anyone and everyone that wants to learn.

Trumpet Behavioral Health is a leading, national autism treatment provider that helps children with autism spectrum disorder, social communication disorders and other developmental delays reach their full potential.
