Managing Natural Risk workshops will help small farmers and ranchers in the Intermountain West learn and implement physical and management changes that will increase their resilience in the face of weather anomalies and natural disasters such as drought, wildfire and climate change. Our goal, like yours, is sustainable agriculture and healthy forests and grasslands. We'll discuss local climate predications, site assessments for risk, water and soils management, ecosystem restoration and on-site management techniques. We'll discuss where to find funding and more resouces. Understanding vulnerabilities and corresponding solutions will help you with affordable solutions and put you on a path to long-term success. And thanks to a grant from Western Extension Risk Management, we can bring this information to you for free!
We'll be taking a virtual video tour of some farms and ranches during lunch. You can bring a brown bag lunch or purchase lunch on-site for ~$10.
