Event description

Description

Join your colleagues for a complimentary lunch at Richland Library before an in-depth discussion of unconscious gender bias and best practices in human resources, led by Jodi Detjen of Orange Grove Consulting.

The issue of gender bias often rises to the surface for organizations when it causes an acknowledged exodus of female talent or concerns of liability — or both. But having the conversation about unconscious gender bias isn’t an easy one to have, especially in the workplace. In this workshop, Jodi Detjen facilitates an open and honest conversation about gender bias from the point of view and experience of Human Resources Professionals. We discuss what it means for men, women and the organization. In our approach of this subject, we then help participants identify actual practices that make a difference in the long-term trajectory of your organization, and how to influence top management to invest in making a difference, by articulating the value of the outcomes.

Participants achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Identify the tangible impact gender bias has on the organization’s performance

  • Acknowledge the different perspectives men and women have about gender equity

  • Identify underlying assumptions in both male and female colleagues to re-think processes, practices and programs.

  • Share best practices with and learn from senior peers

  • Prepare a go-forward plan

Ideal Participant: Human Resource professionals who can influence or implement change in their organizations.
