Understanding and navigating through the so-called “Bermuda Triangle” of leave laws can be especially challenging when you are trying to ensure consistent performance and accountability within your work group. Supervisors, who are often the first point of contact for absences, need to be able to recognize when one or more statutory leaves applies to their employee’s situation. This can include appropriately communicating and designating leave for eligible employees, and also fulfill any obligations under ADA requests for accommodation.
This session provides you with an understanding of the current requirements, as well as tips for policy implementation, proactive management of employee attendance and leaves; and, knowledge of when and how to seek technical assistance with complex issues.
