Event description

Description

Our modern societies are becoming more vulnerable to a wide range of disasters and crises. Disaster induced by natural hazards could lead to severe consequences in almost every aspect of life. While the adverse effects of the changing climate are already affecting people’s lives and livelihood, there are ways to introduce greater resilience through mitigation and adaptation.

On the 29th of November 2017, the Asian Institute of Management and the World Bank will co-host the first ever Disaster Risk and Crisis Management Forum entitled “Managing Disaster in the Age of Climate Change and Big Data.” The day will consist of various presentations from invited speakers and different forum discussions with distinguished panelists.

The goal of the forum is to encourage key leaders to appreciate the need for disaster and crisis preparedness and investing in mitigation and adaptation capacity. It seeks to drive home the point that proper disaster and crisis management needs integrative early investments from government, the private sector, and civil society.

We invite you to join us at this interactive and informative event.
