In an age where the only path to success is a global play, many CFOs are left to wonder what the resulting affects on their business will be. International taxes, transfer pricing, government regulations, international employees and other complex challenges can often trip up even the most seasoned CFO.

Join The Houston CFO Leadership Council as we present “Managing a Global Enterprise” on Thursday, April 21, 2016, where our panel of global CFOs will discuss their particular challenges when operating in an international environment, and their advice for their peers on success.

About Our Speakers:

Michael Butler, Radius 
Mike Butler has more than 20 years’ experience working in the UK, France and US as a European HR executive and consultant working with such companies as United Airlines and Jones Lang Lasalle. Mike currently advises US companies setting up remote Sales / IT teams outside the US on all aspects of international expansion. Mike has both the CIPD (UK) and GPHR (US) HR qualifications as well an MBA. He currently sits on SHRM’s global expertise panel.

Jean-Claude Rolin, CFO, Axens North America, Inc.
Jean-Claude Rolin serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Axens North America, Inc. Mr. Rolin directs every aspect of financial management and operations for this international engineering and manufacturing corporation and its affiliate in Canada. Mr. Rolin has been with Axens North America, Inc., formerly IFP Enterprises, Inc. since 1990. He was involved with the acquisition of several entities and their integration within the Axens group. Prior to Axens, Mr. Rolin was working at KMG (now KPMG) in Belgium and then in New York City.


Jean-Claude Rolin holds a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Louvain in Belgium and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Walt White, Partner, Grant Thorton
Walt White is an International Tax partner in Grant Thornton’s Houston office and the Central Region International Tax leader. White has more than 26 years of experience, serving as a partner with Arthur Andersen, a tax director for Cooper Industries and Kaiser Aluminum Corporation, an attorney with a Washington, D.C., law firm and a consultant in the Washington national tax service of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston’s School of Law. White specializes in international tax planning for U.S. companies with foreign activities, foreign corporations with U.S. activities and cross-border transactions. He also assists companies seeking to lower their global effective tax rate through international tax planning. White is a member of the Houston office’s Energy industry committee and the Consumer and Industrial Products industry committee.

Diversified experience of packaging, beverage, industrial chemicals and oil & gas sectors in an international space in Strategy, Finance, Manufacturing & Supply Chain functions. Past roles have included CFO, COO, Director Manufacturing & Supply Chain and Manager Operations in both public and privately held companies.
