Are you a manager looking to enhance your leadership skills?
Are you new to a management role and feeling a bit overwhelmed?
Or are you looking to grow into a management role in the near future and want to grow your leadership skill set so you can move into a new role with confidence?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then this 6-week course is just for you. The course, Management Training: Creating Healthy Cultures, was created by Morgan Tashea and Maude Haney, to help manager, middle-managers and new managers develop the skills to be a great leader! The course will cover topics including:
- How to define your own management style.
- How to be a strategic leader to engage team members and create value.
- How to create a workplace culture that aligns with your company culture.
- How to create a trusting workplace culture.
- How to acknowledge unconscious bias.
- How to hire and onboard new team members.
- How to coach your teams to greatness.
- How to give and receive feedback.
- Plus MUCH MORE!
The classes will take place every Tuesday for six weeks from 2pm-4pm on the Zoom.us platform (see syllabus outline below for exact dates). And don’t worry, you won’t just be listening to a lecture for two hours, the course is designed with a goal to be as interactive as possible in a computer format. We will build upon collaboration and engagement with your classmates as well as hearing from speakers that are experts in leadership development. Morgan and Maude’s goal for each student is to walk away with a toolbox of knowledge that you can take into your everyday management life as well as build a community of support.

Morgan Tashea, the founder of Wyld Lynx Consulting, focuses on helping companies design workplace cultures that exude confidence in trust, alignment, and clarity. With a Master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology she focuses on giving organizations and their employees the tools that allow them to work together on one path towards success. She has a passion for educating middle managers as they have such a huge opportunity to create positive workplace cultures.
Maude Haney as a representative of The Caputo Group is deeply involved in supporting the Brewing and Service industries in Human Resources. She has over 20 years of experience in education, leadership, human resources, and management. She firmly believes that well supported employees and healthy workplaces are the key to success in a competitive market.
SYLLABUS:
Week 1: March 24th
You Are A Manager: What Does That Mean?
This week will focus on what it means to you to be a successful manager. We will review your values and core behaviors that allow you to live your desired management style in your daily work.
Week 2: March 31st
Strategic Leadership: Beyond Putting Out Fires.
It takes a lot to be a strategic leader. We are going to discuss how as a manager you can be proactive versus reactive, how to understand your employees needs, and how to show value to each employee on your team.
Week 3: April 7th
Home Away From Home: Designing A Livable Culture.
Every company has a culture, some are designed and some just happen. We are going to cover how to design a culture that supports the company culture as a whole and overcomes workplace drama. Diving into unconscious bias, communication skills, and how to use supportive resources to help you drive success.
Week 4: April 14th
Building Your Team: Hiring and Onboarding
We will start with how to write a job description that clearly lays out expectations and skill sets needed to fill the open role, followed by how to create interviews that will help you hire the best fit and how to onboard employees to build trust and clarity from day one.
Week 5: April 21st
Coaching Your Team: Reaching Your Goals!
To be a great manager and leader, it is important to also coach your team towards greatness. We will discuss how to set measurable goals to build team motivation and set clear expectations. We will also dive into how to give and receive feedback, create a positive feedback culture, and how to have those hard conversations.
Week 6: April 28th
Thats A Wrap: Review and Reflect on What’s Next.
Phew, you made it to week six! We are going to do a quick review of what we have covered over the past five weeks. Along with that, we will have a fun activity that will bring it all together and really showcase your new toolbox of management skills!
