Event description

Description

Get hands on with the latest research breakthroughs at the Center for Infectious Disease Research (CID Research). Some of the world's oldest, most challenging diseases still don't have a cure. This module takes you inside the lab to learn why they're so challenging and how new technologies are making desperately needed breakthroughs possible faster than ever before.

You'll learn which of the lifecycles of the malaria parasite we're targeting for intervention, step inside a research insectary, and even dissect mosquitoes.

Finding life-saving solutions to these infectious diseases will require everyone to play a role - so CID Research is putting the tools in your hands.

Can't wait to know more about what we do?

Check out the CID Research blog, and discover the differences between viruses, parasites and bacteria, find out why HIV is so challenging to combat, or read about one researcher's battle with drug-resistant malaria.
