PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED BY NOVEMBER 28TH!
A mala is a set of beads used to support awareness during breath, mantra, and meditation practices. Malas have been used for thousands of years by individuals from many traditions. Using a mala helps foster commitment to the inner journey of yoga, and the mala becomes a sacred space that is a physical representation of your intentions.
In this workshop, each participant creates a one-of-a-kind full (108 beads) mala made with healing gemstones. Participants learn about the mala including its tradition, the healing properties of the gemstones, how to make a mala, and how to use a mala to practice breath and mantra. This workshop includes the repetition of a simple, universal mantra that participants could bring into a daily meditation practice. This workshop begins with gentle yoga asana to prepare the body for sitting and concludes with guided meditation and Kirtan.
This workshop is wonderful for those wanting to explore yoga philosophy and come away with a tool to support a home practice. Participants comment that this workshop sparked their further exploration of the aspects of yoga beyond postures. Others comment that the healing properties of the gems have benefited their lives. Others delighted to have a lovely handmade mala to adorn their practice, or to give as a heartfelt and sacred gift. The lessons of this workshop are as varied as the people present, and it has a wonderful way of unfolding beautifully for all.
This workshop is for all levels and no previous meditation or yoga experience is necessary
