Interested in robotics, kinetic sculpture, things that roll or twitch? Learn to use the Arduino microcontroller to control DC motors, stepper motors, servo motors and solenoids, the four most common ways to make things move. Your class fee includes a motor driver shield, four motors and a solenoid to take home; bring your own Arduino (Uno or compatible) or choose the ticket price "with Arduino".
You don't need any soldering or electronics experience for this class, but you should have some Arduino or other recent programming experience.
Please bring your laptop and have it set up in advance with the Arduino software and drivers - available from
http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software - so you can be ready to start right at
1pm! We'll start with some really simple soldering to put your motor driver kit together, and then move on to software techniques for making things go.
The class will be taught by NYC Resistor member Ranjit Bhatnagar.
