The Problem
According to a recent study, 22% of students moving from primary to secondary school were categorised as having negative transition experience. The report also states that 42% reported a moderate transition experience. This means 2 out of 3 children reported a less than positive experience. The first couple of months in secondary school are crucial. This formative time can have a massive impact on your child's success in secondary school and their teenage years.
The Solution
Delivered through Zoom, Making The Move is lively , dynamic, interactive programme designed to help students move from primary to secondary school with confidence. This programme covers key areas such as making new friends, relationship building, organisation skills, managing homework, studying for a test, dealing with exam stress, managing screen-time and creating a strong morning routine.
This class will help you and your child:
1. Understand the differences between primary and secondary school
2. Make new friends and deal with the anxiety of starting in secondary school
3. Create a timetable and structure your week
4. Manage the workload, differentiate between homework and study; and develop a good study routine
5. Find out what type of learner you are, and the different study techniques associated with each type of learner
6. Learn Ray's powerful 30-Minute Study Sprint giving you framework to bring a topic from textbook to notebook quickly and easily
7. Create powerful notes and one-page summaries using Ray's famous note-taking technique called WHIZGRIDZ
8. Deal with distractions, ‘ditch the phone and get into the zone’ and take control of their time, space and schedule resulting in less stress and improved well-being.

Why would you be crazy not to sign-up?
Teenagers today are in trouble. Phone addiction is a massive problem. Education is in crisis. Parents are fearful. 1 out of 3 teenagers will meet the criteria for diagnosis with some form of anxiety disorder by 18. Many teenagers feel overwhelmed. Others are totally demotivated and disengaged. If your child does not get off to a good start in secondry school this can have serious long-term implications such as lack of enagagement, proor grades, resistence to go to school and school avoidance. This can create a lot of tension at home. You do not want to end up doing the Junior or Leaving Cert for your child.
