The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) walk is a powerful event to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. Last year at Soldier Field, the noncompetitive 5k walk welcomed more than 10,000 participants and raised $700,000.
MSABC of Chicago is the only major breast cancer walk in downtown Chicago during October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events bring together
people who want to make a difference in the fight against
breast cancer. People walk as individuals or on teams with
family, friends, and coworkers. Event volunteers help with
registration, logistics, and participant support.
Making Strides events celebrate and honor breast cancer
survivors and caregivers; educate the public about prevention
and detection to reduce risk of the disease; and raise funds
to help end breast cancer. Last year, nearly 1.2 million Making
Strides walkers turned awareness into action by helping to
raise more than $60 million for the American Cancer Society
to help save lives from breast cancer.
