About this event
For 20 years, the Philadelphia Writing Project has convened A Celebration of Writing and Literacy, an annual conference presented by and for Philadelphia educators.
Join local educators online for two days of learning, reflection, and joy as we share promising practices and resources for supporting writing and literacy among young people!
This year's conference theme is “Making Stories Visible.” The conference is co-hosted by the Philadelphia Writing Project, the Teachers Institute of Philadelphia (TIP), Penn GSE, and the Penn Museum.

Venue: Online Saturday, October 16, 9am–2pm. Online and in person Sunday, October 17, 9am–2pm morning sessions via Zoom, afternoon writing marathon at the Penn Museum, exploring the museum collections at the Penn Museum, 3260 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
Cost: Pay what you wish: suggested admission is $20, high school and university students are free. Everyone must register to receive the meeting link.
Recording: We plan to record portions of the conference in Zoom and post it to our website for other educators to watch. Participants will have the options to update their names shown on the screen and to participate without cameras on.

About the organizer
The Philadelphia Writing Project (PhilWP), located at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, is a site of the National Writing Project. It is a growing teacher network of over 800 teacher consultants who work in a variety of ways with teachers and other educators to explore literacy, writing, teaching, and learning in their classrooms and schools regardless of grade or discipline.
