Making Sense of Recycling

How to save money and the environment reusing common household wastes by repurposing their use.

10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Instructor: Janice Oberwitter

The City of Orlando and Orange County have recycling programs. While very similar, the programs do have variations. Information and tips to help you sort your wastes so that the effort will be acceptable for recycling facilities while saving money both for yourself and the communities. Creative ideas for using recyclables in your garden and in your home will be presented with hands on activities.

Janice Oberwetter has a degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and is a volunteer at Harry P. Leu Gardens where she has worked with the Horticulture staff and has also been a tour guide since January 2015. She has been a UF Master Gardener, Orange County, since 2014.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.

Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided
