About this event

Making Quality of Life Stick -

Leading the Butterfly Approach to Care

‘I think my biggest frustration is that some of the managers who attended person centred training are becoming some of the most difficult to convert to new ways. I can't even get them to refer to the home areas by their appropriate name which is frustrating.’-Long Term Care Manager, Ontario

Most people would buy into the idea that quality of life matters most to the people we support and care for.

But why do so many of our colleagues pay lip service to this, carrying on with a task based approach to care?

This one day seminar will support you to examine and confront some of the subtle, but destructive barriers to implementing person centred care, enabling you to inspire and support your colleagues to make a positive difference to the people they support.

The seminar will look at:

• Rewarding what matters – What do you believe your staff think gets ‘rewarded’ at work?

• Fueling Your Rocket - A cliché about the Butterfly Approach is that ‘it’s not rocket science’, however, they are always colleagues who will ensure that it makes you feel that it is! Where should we concentrate our energies?

• Keeping the ball rolling - What can we do to maintain momentum when we make positive changes?

This interactive seminar will use lessons learned by Meaningful Care Matters in transforming care services in Canada, UK and Eire.
