This workshop series is designed for coaches, youth workers and educators who desire to use play as an anchor for dynamic youth programming for their STEAM and arts integrated classrooms. Participants will explore the social and emotional benefits of incorporating more play into their youth programs, and how empathy inspires program growth. Participants will practice leading games and designing workshops to include meaningful play.
Workshops are $25 each, or $80 for the series. A limited number of pay-what-you-can registrations are available. Registration includes a light lunch.

--- More Playful Programming ---
Wednesday November 9th 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
This introductory workshop will provide an opportunity for all participants to explore the value of incorporating play into the flow of a STEAM or arts integrated workshop.
--- Facilitate with Empathy ---
Wednesday November 16th 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
A continuation of the More Playful Programming workshop, participants will begin exploring how empathy can develop a more dynamic STEAM or arts integrated program. We will experiment with effective and efficient facilitation strategies while challenging each individual to facilitate a game with their peers using these new strategies. Participation in prior workshop is encouraged, but not required.
--- Play-Centered Workshop Design ---
Wednesday November 30th 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Design a lesson plan that incorporates play throughout your youth focused, project-based STEAM or arts integrated experience. We will explore different strategies to incorporate into youth programs that support positive group dynamics. Participation in prior workshops is encouraged, but not required.
--- Growing Through Play: Reflection and Reinforcement ---
Wednesday December 14th 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The final workshop in this series will serve as a place for us all to reflect on the process of incorporating play and programming with empathy. We will practice and reinforce the strategies learned in this series with more experiential learning.
