Event description

Description

The effects of trauma on a person’s life are extensive and long lasting. They include chronic pain, PTSD, anxiety, depression, unemployment or underemployment, self-abuse, eating disorders, self-doubt, abusive relationships, and more.

What if in your therapy toolbox you had the right questions to ask to guide your clients who have experienced trauma out of these devastating effects?

Michael White, the founder of Narrative Therapy, created the map to make half-memories whole.

In this experiential workshop in a series, you’ll...

- Be able to conduct a therapeutic interview that doesn't re-traumatize.

- Understand why trauma has such far-reaching effects on the body, mind and soul.

- Get a practical understanding of memory theory and how it effects trauma recovery.

- Learn "dual-listening" to launch into the 3-part line of inquiry to bring forth the whole memory of the trauma, and then how to incorporate that into their identity.

- Have the tools to "scaffold" a conversation on how to make sense of horrible experiences in a way that will help them deflate and release the effects of that experience, and move into a life of purpose.
