The New World of Water Created by SB 606 and AB 1668

The California Municipal Utilities Association (CMUA) is offering two regional workshops on the impacts of SB 606 and AB 1668, which were signed into law by Governor Brown on May 31, 2018, mandating water districts and municipalities enact a variety of water conservation measures. These recently enacted laws create a new comprehensive framework that applies to both agricultural and urban water conservation and water use efficiency. The goal is to prepare the state for the next drought and the anticipated environmental changes. Embedded within the bills are numerous new and complex requirements for state agencies and water suppliers that will fundamentally change the local water management in the future. These interactive workshops, which are offered free of charge to CMUA members (non-members pay $50 per person), will provide the tools your agency needs to understand and implement these changes.

Each workshop will feature panel presentations with industry experts, state agency personnel, and water utility representatives. More details on each workshop are listed below along with a link to register. Please be sure to check the date and location of the workshop you are interested in attending on the registration page. If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact Danielle Blacet at (916) 326-5802 or dblacet@cmua.org.

Registration is free for CMUA utility and Associate members. Non-members registration fee is $50.00.

Seats are limited so register today! This event is open to all CMUA member utilities, Associate Members, and non-member utilities. Registration is complimentary for CMUA utility and Associate Members. Non-member utilities, vendors/suppliers, and other industry organizations pay $50 per person. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

*Utility or Associate Members must be in good standing. Each agency may send multiple representatives but registration is required for each person. Members of NCPA, SCPPA, TANC, M-S-R, and State Water Contractors will be extended the complimentary member registration by virtue of their membership in a CMUA member agency.
