This is a gathering for Black men that will explore the value of prayer and contemplative practices to leadership and personal wellbeing.

Contemplative Conversations (Richard Rohr)

  • Jesus as a contemplative social justice advocate
  • The challenges of dualistic thinking to living a life of thriving and peace

Spiritual Practices (Juanita Rasmus)

  • Facilitated prayer and meditation for a deeper connection with God, self, and purpose

African American Contemplative Traditions (Matthew Williams)

  • Facilitated conversations and spiritual practices that recover the gift of African American contemplative traditions
  • The unique value within the narratives of Black men for their spiritual wholeness

Goals for our time together:

  1. Provide space and tools for spiritual renewal
  2. Explore the importance of spiritual practices to thriving as leaders and personal wellbeing
  3. Create space for Black ministers to discuss the value of contemplative prayer
  4. Practice meditation and it’s value to overall wellbeing
  5. Practice various forms of contemplative prayer and meditation within a community of Black men
  6. To learn spiritual practices in community with likeminded Black men
  7. Experience glimpses of spiritual renewal

Space is limited to 30 registrants. Once we reach capacity registration will be closed.

INCLUDES: All meals (Friday – Sunday) and time on the campus of the Center for Action and Contemplation

Once you register please book one of the following hotels.

  • El Vado Motel – A recently renovated boutique motel from the 1930’s just five minutes from

CAC. It has several food and drink options right onsite on their patio, including a taproom, coffee shop, and several mini-restaurants.

  • Hotel Albuquerque – Nice hotel in Old Town Albuquerque, located less than 10 mins from CAC.
