Makers Hub: Growth Strategies - A Creative Workshop for Manufacturers
Overview
About this event:
Portland is home to many iconic maker companies - businesses that have been innovating and crafting high-quality products for decades. Makers Hub was created as a quarterly gathering designed to bring Portland’s manufacturing community together—not just to talk shop, but to spark new ideas, tackle common challenges, and build lasting connections.
Each event is designed to provide an informative, collaborative, and engaging experience for Portland Manufacturers. The event series is led by Kinesis and Chris King Precision Components and sponsored by Prosper Portland.
Our December event will be an interactive workshop, focusing on a creative exercise around growth. For many businesses, the main approach to growth is more marketing and/or more sales. The problem? These strategies fall flat when there is nothing remarkable to talk about. Being better, faster, or cheaper than the competition is not a winning proposition - especially as channels get more crowded and it's hard to stand out.
In this lworkshop, we'll focus on remarkability and creativity as the drivers for growth. We'll explore ways to come up with a strategic positioning that takes into account internal capacities and the external realities that impact manufacturing businesses.
Your Co-Hosts:
Chris King Precision Components is a performance bicycle component manufacturer based in Portland, OR. Since 1976 we have been domestically producing bicycle parts of the highest quality. We choose to source our raw materials from domestic mills because of the consistent quality and integrity of production that they offer. Throughout our production history we have made the choice to enact environmentally sound manufacturing practices and have worked to apply eco friendly principals to every part of our business.
Kinesis is a Portland-based growth studio for owner-run businesses. We work with established companies who strive to be one of a kind in their market. Our three-step co-creative process is designed to create clarity round the organization’s strategic positioning, make it real from the inside out, and amplify it through an iterative human to human marketing approach. We are excited to celebrate our 25th year in business this year.
Prosper Portland is generously sponsoring Makers Hub.
