Description

Maker Meet Up: a chance for makers of all types to talk, share and connect.

This is a chance for the Liverpool city region's community of makers, artists, thinkers and doers to get together every once in a while to showcase their work, meet other makers, and discuss the maker movement happening in the city.

The nineth instalment of our Maker Meet Up brings us another evening of all things making!

The event will consist of speakers from all different crafts, medias and arts, both professional and hobbyists. Speakers will consist of:

Paul Curtis, artist and muralist famous for the instagrammable liverbird wings mural and Abbey Road Crossing situatuated in the Baltic Triangle.

Amy Collins founder of @p.i.n.h.e.a.d who make custom enamel pins. Amy loves to put her own spin on some characters many of you will recognise from films and TV with inspiration from Wes Anderson, South Park, Breaking Bad, and some 90s kids classics like Edd the Duck and Zig & Zag.

Fashion designer annd maker Emma Summerscale whose work focuses on remaking and repairing clothes, restoring treasured garments using the original detailing for inspiration. As a practitioner of slow fashion, Emma is passionate about buying less, wasting less and using what we already have.

Emma is based in Studio Thrift, L8 and offers workshops in visible mending and upcycling as well as events to raise awareness about slow fashion and how to adopt a sustainable approach to your wardrobe.

Make's own resident Chris Wylie, Puppet maker and puppetier of @puppetuity. As a maker he's built puppets for film and theatre and dealt with clients with some surprising requests. He's run stalls and done impromptu puppet shows with stuffed toys for the Shark Trust at aquaria and his illustrations have featured in shark biology books and DVDs, on Christmas cards and in calendars

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

On street parking is free and unlimited. Public transport links are nearby, and the venue is easily accessible on foot from Liverpool City Centre.




How accessible is the venue?

The event will be located on the ground floor which provides full accessibilty to the premises icluding toilet provisions. We would advise wheelchair users to contact us on the sale of the ticket to arrange a parking bay.
