The 16th annual Maker Faire Bay Area is returning to the West Coast for a grand celebration of invention, creativity, and hands-on learning, showcasing the finest of the global Maker Movement. From Friday, October 18 to Sunday, October 20, 2024, this iconic event will take place at the historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, California, nestled along the scenic Napa River. The weekend promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with exciting exhibitions, interactive activities, and engaging presentations and performances for all ages.
Drawing over 20,000 makers, artisans, engineers, and innovators from across the globe, Maker Faire Bay Area is renowned for its diverse and interactive content. With activities spanning from cutting-edge technology and science to art and craftsmanship – there's something for everyone. Highlights include a Waterlight Graffiti Wall, a Tinkering Workshop, a Laser Obstacle Course, Robot Rumble bot bash, and more.
Throughout the weekend, attendees can explore presentations, performances, and exhibits from hundreds of creators representing over 20 countries. Topics range from AI, microelectronics, and 3D printing to drones and robotics, alongside projects focusing on social good, health, and education.
This year's event will feature dynamic performances and demonstrations that have captivated audiences on shows like The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Off-Broadway, and Sesame Street. Highlights include EppyBird's famous Coke and Mentos show, Mario the Maker Magician's jaw-dropping tricks, and Science Bob from Mark Rober's CrunchLabs.
HOURLY FREE SHUTTLES FROM VALLEJO TO MARE ISLAND!
Thanks to our official Transportation Sponor SF Ferry free shuttles from Vallejo to Mare Island and back will be provided hourly and the $9.20 ticket fare is waived as well. Fee still applies from San Fransisco. Cross the Bay by boat and arrive in style and speed. Ferry riders will have a designated entrance to the event steps from the ferry doc.
