Before Maker Faire, meet us at the San Mateo Event Center to look at the site and ask any questions.

FAQ’S:

Do I need to have a ticket or copy of my registration to attend a site visit?

No, you do not need to have a physical ticket or copy of your registration from Eventbrite. However, we would like for you to register, so we know you are coming to meet us. 

I did not receive an email confirmation when I registered, what should I do?

Check your spam or gray mail folder, in case it was misdirected. If you are unable to find it, email makers@makerfaire.com to ensure that we are expecting you. Please include the name and email address used to register and list your Project ID number in the email.

Can I bring people with me?

Yes, you can bring others. They do not need to fill out a separate registration, unless they are associated with a different exhibit and want to discuss it. If they have a different exhibit, please tell them to register. 

What day(s) and hour(s) will the Maker Faire team be at the San Mateo Event Center to meet us?

Thursday, April 2 – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm 

Thursday, April 16 – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Thursday, April 30 – 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Does it matter what time I come?

We will be onsite from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm to meet you. Please come between 12:00pm and 2:00pm, if possible, so that we have time to walk around the event center.

Where can I park?

Park near the Jockey Club building at the San Mateo Event Center. The lot is located off of South Delaware Street. Turn into the Delaware entrance, Gate 14 and go straight. Follow the signs to the Jockey Club meeting room. Click here for directions.

Is public transportation available?

Yes; SamTrans and Caltrain provide convenient and cost-effective service with CalTrains running hourly. Caltrain stops at the Hillsdale station, 0.8 miles from the event center. Three SamTrans routes provide service to the event center from throughout the county and San Francisco. Route 292 provides direct service. Routes 390 and 391 offer service along El Camino Real with a stop at 25th Avenue, two blocks west of the event center grounds.

What if it rains?

We will be there to meet you. 

When I arrive, where do I meet you?

Meet us in the Jockey Club meeting room at the San Mateo Event Center. Follow signs after parking. If you're lost, call/text 312-543-5283, and we'll tell you where we are.

What can I expect?

To walk around the event center, to visit the site, and to discuss any changes, requests, or questions you may have.  You will see the location we have in mind for your exhibit. If we haven't placed your exhibit yet or if your location doesn't work for you, we'll find a new space to accomodate your needs.  

This contract limits the liability of Maker Media, Inc. and its affiliates.  You acknowledge that Maker Faire exhibits and activities are inherently hazardous, and that risks to you as a Maker Faire attendee include physical injury and property damage. You are solely responsible for supervising/controlling the behavior of the children in your party for your for their safety. By purchasing this ticket and/or participating in Maker Faire exhibits and/or activities, you assume all risks to you and/or your children of such, including damage, loss, harm, injury and death to your person(s) and all risks resulting from negligent instruction or supervision, and you release Maker Media, Inc. from all corresponding liability to you and your successors.
