MakeIt Labs MIG Welding Workshop - September 2012

MakeIt Labs is hosting another MIG Welding Workshop! Students will learn how to weld using the MIG (Metal Inert Gas) method. If you've ever wanted to learn how to stick two pieces of metal together, this is it!
Students will learn in a 4 hour session. The session will cover an overview of welding terminology, safety, and device operation, later we will cover, demonstrations and supervised hands on practice. No previous experience is needed, and this Workshop will fully qualify students to indipendently run the shop welding equipement after the workshop. Materials cost is included in the price of admission.

About the instructor:
Rob Riel is a maker, an inventor, a hacker and an engineer, and been that way all his life. When not finding some reason to add or subtract metal from his Jeep, Rob studies computer engineering at UMASS Lowell, specializing in embedded systems design. In his free time Rob is designing embedded controllers and various mechanical systems.
