JANUARY 2014: Pricing & Presenting Your Artwork

This workshop, lead by Silvermine Arts Center, Gallery Director, Jeffrey Mueller, will give artists the opportunity to explore essential business skills. Mr. Mueller will walk artists through the process of Pricing and Framing Your Work, in a step-by-step method that demystifies these often challenging subjects. Participants will learn the necessary questions and strategies to consider that are essential components to their success as self-employed artists.
Make.Art.Work. Project Manager, Jeannie Thomma, will wrap up the evening’s workshop with a concise look at Presenting Yourself on Paper: Artist Statements & Resumes

Workshop Presenter:

Jeffrey Mueller, Gallery Director at Silvermine Arts Center

Jeffrey Mueller is gallery director at Silvermine Arts Center, New Canaan, CT, where he has curated over 100 exhibitions.  Mr. Mueller oversees a roster of approximate 300 artists whose work can be found in major corporate and private collections, as well as, in the permanent collection of many important institutions such as MoMA, The Metropolitans Museum of Art, and the National Gallery.  In addition to working at Silvermine Arts Center, Mr. Mueller is an adjunct Art History Professor at Purchase College and Western Connecticut State University. Prior to joining the staff of Silvermine Arts Center, he was Associate Director at RJ Fine Arts in Stamford. Mr. Mueller holds a MA in Modern and Contemporary Art, Criticism and Theory from Purchase College; a  BA in Art History from University at  Albany and a BFA in Fine Art Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology.
