It's that time again: Make Your Own Bacon at Motor Supply.
When: Monday, November 11, 2013, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Motor Supply Co. Bistro, 920 Gervais St., Columbia, S.C. 29201
What: Motor Supply Executive Chef Tim Peters will walk 25 ticketholders through the process of hand-seasoning and rubbing local, sustainably-farmed Caw Caw Creek pork belly bacon, while also giving exclusive cooking tips and demystifying cooking terms.
Guests will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres + beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Attendees can also make up to 3 more hunks of bacon for $20 each, and after, can leave their bacon to be smoked at Motor or take it home to be cured in their own refrigerators with instructions provided by Chef Peters.
How: $60/ticket purchase includes one hunk of local Caw Caw Creek Pastured Pork bacon, complimentary beer, wine, non-alcoholic bevs + appetizers. Up to 3 additional hunks of bacon are available to each ticketholder to customize during the workshop at $20/slab.
Why: What’s better than bacon? Customized bacon. Attendees will choose seasonings from a selection of flavors ranging from dry figs and blueberries to curry and cloves, while also learning Chef Peters’ secrets to making Motor’s legendary charcuterie and supporting the local, sustainable farms who provide the ingredients for such great bacon makin'.
